Kettlebell For Arm Wrestling

By occasion the former 5 time world champion master in Arm wrestling com by my small shop (its so new, so we just put it in order for the moment) looked at our Kettle bells, told us he never heard about KB's before. But, he was thrilled, and want me to start training the local Arm wrestling club with Kettle bells.

What sort of work out would you suggest for these athletes? If the guy is the 5 time world champion, I think the best advice would be to stick with what he’s knows.

However much I love kettle bells, in this case, they are not best suited to the job. To build that function you need stronger arms, wrists and hands.

From what I’ve seen of high level arm wrestlers, in their training they do lots of curls in various positions and lots of hand work. If you want to use the kettle bell for general fitness and strength just stick with the basics for these athletes.

On top of that they could do their specialization work (which should of course include lots of arm wrestling). Wrestlers wear it as a badge of honor when they hear how tough you have to be to get through a typical training session.

A strength and conditioning program for wrestlers should make it a special point to develop high levels of anaerobic power and strength endurance while keeping you as lean as possible so you stay in your natural weight class.

In addition, performing Sprawls can serve as an effective way to train your speed, agility and conditioning. Walking Lunges are great for developing lower-body strength and proprioceptive balance, which translate to more powerful legs for performing “shots,” or takedowns, and better body control, which helps overall agility.

Russian Twists are a good exercise for developing rotational strength and stability, which are necessary for grapples. Wrestlers wear it as a badge of honor when they hear how tough you have to be to get through a typical training session.

Comrades, Can anyone specifically name some kettle bell movements to help improve one's arm wrestling ? I plan to meet my family soon and my brother always wants to arm wrestle.

He's a pretty strong guy, but I refuse to leave such an event to chance. Besides more arm wrestling and ISO's with a wall, a kettle bell can get the job done like this.

Use it b.up style for EVERY exercise, like b.up windmills and Turkish get ups, b.up front and overhead squats. After your grip and wrists are fried you can even get on your knees and perform cleans, b.up cleans, jerk's, hot potato, iron crosses...the list goes on and on with a kettle bell.

I keep a KB in my office for the long shift hours I work and been trying some of them. It’s an outstanding accomplishment, and I hope my article detailing his journey will help you to increase your strength and press the 48 kg Beast.
